Dr. Ken Hancock grew up in a singing family, and as a
child attended old fashion singing schools and singing conventions where
shaped notes were king. In high school he received training in classical
religious and American Opera. As an undergraduate, Dr. Ken sang in the top
concert choirs at both Welch College (formally Free Will Baptist Bible
College) and the University of Tulsa. This training was utilized as a
minister of music in two churches. His all-male quartet experience started
at Welch College and expanded when he joined the Tulsans in the late 1980's
and was associated with the Tulsans Quartet for over 21 years, including
the last seven years of that quartet's existence. He also brings
experiences from such all-male groups as Heirborn and the Cagle Brothers as
well as his experiences singing with his wife, Leigh Ann, in the Hancock
trio. Ken is an Emeritus Professor of School Administration from
Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. Ken and Leigh Ann have long time
roots in the Free Will Baptist tradition.
