Jerry Ward grew up listening to Southern Gospel. Every Sunday
morning in their household, the TV was tuned into the Gospel Singing
Jubilee. Jerry later developed and applied his singing talents with the
Concert Chorus at East Central High School and in the youth and adult
choirs at Sequoyah Hills Baptist Church in addition to starting a Solo
ministry. His first taste of Southern Gospel Male Quartet singing was with
the Heirborn Quartet which traveled over
Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas for five years. Jerry joined the Singing
Churchman of Oklahoma after Heirborn disbanded.
Jerry and his wife Ellen are long time members of Olivet Baptist Church in
Tulsa where he also participated in several ensembles and formed the
Redeemed Trio. Due to some family health issues, Jerry took off a few years
before starting to sing again. His heart was still caught up with Southern
Gospel Male Quartet singing and was honored to join the New Tulsans.
